WHOS Flea Market In 1972, the Western Oklahoma Historical Society staged the first flea market on the Old Town Museum lawn. The flea market became an annual event and the historical society’s main fundraiser. Held the first weekend in October of every year except the pandemic year of 2020, the flea market has grown over the years and now occupies most of Ackley Park. Independence Day Firework Display
Independence Day Firework Display Come celebrate America’s Independence Day at Ackley Park with a day full of activities and events ending with a spectacular fireworks display put on by the City of Elk City. This map marks where people can set off fireworks on July 4th. The green areas are open for fireworks from 6:00 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. No fireworks are permitted in the red, orange, and yellow areas. The yellow areas are for viewing of the night’s fireworks display. Red and orange areas are closed.
